Jimi King Textile Design Workshop FEE REDUCED! ONE Day ONLY!

World renowned artist and textile designer Jimi King is returning to Detroit on Saturday, August 12, 2017, to present a one-day only textile workshop at Dabls MBAD Museum, 6559 Grand River, corner of West Grand Boulevard.

The workshop fee has been reduced to $200 for the day, and all materials and supplies will be provided as well as a light lunch. 

On Saturday, August 12, from 10:00 am-4:00 pm, Mr. King will teach Origami and Vintage techniques, as well as discussing indigo dyeing and discharge techniques.

Mr. King, a native of Nigeria, is a third-generation textile designer and fabric artist.  He studied fashion and textile design at the Chelsea School of Art in London. Mr. King has been in the fashion design business for over 30 years.  The Jimi King brand of clothing is known and enjoyed by fashion lovers worldwide.

β€œIt is my desire to pass on the art of textile design to those interested in learning the craft I love,” said Jimi King.  The workshops will provide hands on knowledge of this art.  For those truly interested, it will provide an economic development opportunity.  Participants will learn a craft they may transfer to a life skill.  Join us as Mr. King passes on his vast knowledge of textile design.  You will not want to miss this opportunity.
