Maurice W. Sanders is a metro Detroit freelance photographer whose images have been published in local magazines and have received numerous awards. He has studied both film and digital photography for many years. As a self-taught photographer, Maurice has enriched his craft by attending photography workshops, by networking with other photographers and through online courses.
He is the president of two camera clubs, with membership in several others. He enjoys the many benefits of club membership, including social interaction, hands-on learning and photo competitions.
Maurice’s love for photography has taken him to all seven continents. The “Global Faces” collection of photos resulted from the hundreds of pictures Maurice took while traveling to different countries.
He sets himself apart from other photographers by creating photographic images that show emotion, vivid color, eye contact and negative space.
Sanders firmly believes “a great photograph tells a story and creates a feeling within the viewer”. When asked what his favorite photograph of all his work is, he replied, “The one I’m going to take tomorrow”.
