Kaee Johnson: Hidden Agenda

About Kaee Johnson:

The artistic sensibilities of Liberian-born artist, Kaee Johnson, were in large part inspired by the experiences of his early years. From Liberia, he traveled the globe with stops in France, Spain, and Haiti, where he lived for two years during his early, teenage years, and also the West African nations of Cameroon and Ivory Coast. Kaee also later traveled to South Africa, Madagascar, and Mauritius Island, as well as residing off and on in Montpellier, France for a total of seven years.

At the age of 21, he arrived in the United States and commenced his study of art at Harris-Stowe University in St. Louis, Missouri. After earning a degree in Art Education, he embarked on a rewarding career as an art teacher, including 14 years with the Pontiac (MI) public school system. Having been inspired by his travels and experiences as a child and young adult, Kaee has always sought to instill a similar sense of artistic inspiration in his students.

All the while he has pursued his passion for creating unique and evocative pieces of art. His works have adorned the Kendeja Gallery in Liberia, the Harris-Stowe University Artistic exhibition, Frame Art Gallery in Birmingham (MI), Elegance by Design furniture store in Ferndale (MI), P O E M (People on Earth Matter), an online art studio/gallery, and now, Detroit Fiber Works.

This is Kaee’s first exhibit in nearly a decade, and we are really excited to have the opportunity to show his work.
