MAUNE STEPHANIE DESIGNS-One Weekend Only

Maune Stephanie will bring her latest designs to Detroit Fiber Works on the weekend of September 26, 27 and 28, 2014.  A preview will be held on Friday, August 15 from 6-9PM.  Saturday hours are 11AM-7PM, and Sunday, Noon until 5PM.

Maune Stephanie’s clientele marvel at her one-of-a- kind leather wearable art pieces. A self-taught artist who creates unique leather handbags and accessories, Maune Stephanie began designing for herself and her friends while still in high school.  She travels coast to coast as a featured artist in some of the top U.S. art festivals.  

My leather work is organic - it's "GREEN". I break down and recycle every cut of leather and turn it into some form of art. No piece is duplicated. Individuality and unique design is the basis of my work."

Maune Stephanie brought her first line of leather handbags and accessories to Detroit several years ago. "SKIN TIGHT" was well received because of the spectrum of style in Detroit. Maune Stephanie says, "Detroiters embrace FUNKY fashion and wearable art.  Detroit is an artist’s infinite dream of creative combustion."

Open since September 2013, Detroit Fiber Works features handmade, unique wearables and home accessories, and exhibits the work of local artists, with a new exhibition monthly.  Detroit Fiber Works also periodically hosts national and international artists. 

The gallery/boutique is located at 19359 Livernois, just south of Outer Drive.  The current exhibition features paintings and photography by John Osler, creator of the 2014 Detroit Jazz Festival poster and the recently published photo book "Detroit Jazz.".

HOURS:  Wednesday through Saturday, 11AM-7PM, open late on Third Thursdays until 9PM, with added hours for special events.
