Millie 'Sequoia" David delivers styles that are timeless, classic and unique using natural fibers such as cotton, silk, linen, hemp and leather, combined with authentic indigenous textiles such as mudcloth, Kuba, Khorogo and Kente from Africa. 

Caribbean born, and raised in New York, Sequoia studied Fashion Buying and Merchandising at Fashion Institute of Technology in New York. Her first collection of futuristic sportswear and club wear received rave reviews and was featured at Henri Bendels and Bloomingdales.

As Sequoia’s interests and influences changed, so did her fashions, eventually leading her to Jamaica to design costumes for Jimmy Cliff and his band. In Jamaica, her exposure to Reggae, Rastafari and African culture inspired her to launch the Ites International label. She trained local women to cut, sew and finish one-of-a-kind looks mostly from leather and suede that were sought after by Reggae superstars and local devotees.

Sequoia built a client base in many major cities, including New York, Washington DC, Chicago, Miami and Toronto, eventually settling in Atlanta. You may have seen her wares at the African World Festival in Detroit in the Nineties. After a 15 year hiatus, during which she raised three outstanding offspring, Sequoia and Ites International are back!

In addition to being a masterful clothing designer, Sequoia is a certified Qigong instructor and Happiness Advocate. With the new artistic awakening that is transpiring worldwide, she has picked a perfect time to re-introduce Ites International's “Natural Clothing for Intelligent Life”.
