Friday, December 4 through January 30: SOMETHING TO SAY, Works by Arlinda Crossland & George Vary
Exhibition Dates: December 5 through January 30
Arlinda Holt Crossland: Artist and Art Educator
Beauty is my mission! As a graduate of Detroit’s Cass Tech High School and Michigan State University Art Departmens, I’ve been told “Painting is what you do best!” My body of work encompasses many vivid colors, textures, and dramatic lines as it reflects the world’s complexities and rhythms. Drawings, paintings and collages are illustrated and sometimes merged to create visual vibrations!
George Vary: Landscape Architect, Mosaic Artist & Musician
Born in Detroit, George is a new glass artist, emerging from the field of landscape architecture. Inspired by the colors and textures found in nature, he uses reflective and hard qualities of colored glass to realize works inspired by Gaudi, Monet and Gauguin. A graduate of Cass Tech and Michigan State, he has exhibited most recently at Arts Extended Gallery in Detroit. His philosophy is to represent the majesty and wonder of the creator in the work, using light and shadow, intricacy and subtlety. The work is meant to be touched. The goal is to show that glass mosaic art can be not only art but architectural elements in our everyday environments.
